Phil walks through the application revenue review.
Apps on Solana kept more money than apps on any other chain in every window: 44% of today's total across these five chains. Base beat BSC today, but BSC is ahead over the week and month. Revenue shows who earned, not whether it will last.
| Ecosystem | 24h | 7d | 30d |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solana | $5.33M | $40.40M | $159.05M |
| Hyperliquid L1 | $2.91M | $16.06M | $77.95M |
| Ethereum | $1.94M | $11.30M | $54.04M |
| Base | $1.22M | $4.46M | $27.68M |
| BSC | $702k | $8.34M | $35.85M |

Application revenue is what apps keep from the fees users pay them, under each app's tracking rules. Think of it as the takings of the businesses built on a chain, rather than the toll the chain itself charges.
On that measure Solana is well ahead. Its apps earned about 2.7 times what Ethereum's did in the last day, and 44% of the total for these five chains. That's a share of this sample, not of every app on every chain. Hyperliquid's L1 is a steady second in all windows, and Ethereum a steady third.

Solana's share peaks at 50.1% over 7 days. Base's share is twice as large today (10.1%) as over the week (5.5%).
The top three hold the same order in every window. The bottom two swap. Today Base earned $1.22M against BSC's $702k. Over seven days BSC earned nearly twice as much as Base, and over thirty days about 30% more.
Base's latest day was about 1.9 times its average day of the past week. But that week was weak: it averaged about 37% less per day than the 23 days before. BSC is the mirror image: a steady week, then a quiet day at about 0.6 times its average. One strong day isn't a trend. The question is whether Base's jump holds.

Two chains can show the same revenue and carry very different risk. If one app earns most of it, the whole ecosystem's number rises and falls with that app. If earnings are spread across trading, lending and payments, a problem in one area matters less. The chain-level totals here can't tell those cases apart.
Durability matters too. Revenue earned while users are being paid rewards to show up may fade once the rewards stop. Judging whether revenue is sustainable, or whether it benefits token holders, needs costs, incentives and distribution rules.

Ecosystem A depends on one app. Ecosystem B would survive a shock to any single source. The real split for each chain needs app-level data.

Solana's lead in app revenue is large and consistent across every window. Hyperliquid and Ethereum hold steady behind it. The Base and BSC swap is the live question: one strong day against a week that pointed the other way.
The next step is to look inside the totals: which apps earn the money, how much of it is propped up by rewards, and whether Base's jump repeats over the coming weeks.
For a recurring revenue report
Methodology and limits. Uses DefiLlama's chain-level application revenue series retrieved on 3 Sep 2026. Revenue follows each tracked app's adapter definition and is distinct from gross app fees, chain gas fees and audited net profit. Coverage is limited to tracked apps and provider attribution rules. Shares are of this five-chain sample only. Baselines divide 30-day revenue by 30 and 7-day revenue by 7; the "earlier 23 days" average is (30d − 7d) ÷ 23 and assumes aligned windows. Dashboard 07 is illustrative. No operating costs are reconstructed and no claim is made that app revenue accrues to a chain's token. Exact upstream cutoffs were unavailable.
